What fascia installation involves
New fascia board behind the gutter, which is what the gutter actually hangs on. The part homeowners rarely see is everything underneath: the decking, the underlayment, the flashing at every wall and penetration. That is where a roof either lasts or starts leaking in three years.
Jonathan walks the roof before quoting anything, photographs what he finds, and shows you the pictures. You get told what it needs and what it does not, in plain language, and the number you get is the number you pay.
Read that back and it sounds like the bare minimum. It is. It is also the thing most people say they did not get from the last contractor they hired, which is why we keep saying it out loud.

What actually goes wrong
These are the failures we actually find on fascia installation jobs around the metro, in the order they turn up.
Gutters fail at the fascia, not the gutter
A sagging gutter is usually a rotted fascia board that can no longer hold a spike or hanger. Rehanging the gutter on bad wood buys a season. The honest repair is to replace the fascia first, which is why we quote them together.
Pitch is not optional
A gutter needs fall toward the downspout. Run dead level, it holds water, grows weight, pulls its hangers and breeds mosquitoes. You can see this from the ground after a rain: standing water in a gutter is a pitch problem.
Soffit ventilation feeds the whole roof
Vented soffit is the intake half of attic ventilation. Blocked or missing, the exhaust vents at the ridge have nothing to pull, the attic cooks, and the shingles above it age early. Gutters, fascia, soffit and roof are one system, which is why we treat them that way.
Ask who is actually going to be on the roof. If the person selling you the job cannot tell you, they are selling your job to somebody else.
Ask for the license and insurance paperwork and actually look at it. A certificate of insurance takes one phone call to verify, and it protects you, not them.
Ask what the warranty covers and who honors it. A manufacturer warranty on materials means nothing if the workmanship that voided it was theirs.
None of this needs to be decided on the phone. The useful next step is having somebody get on the roof, photograph what is actually there, and put the findings in writing so you can think about it.
If you have had a quote already and something about it did not sit right, a second look is worth the time. Comparing two written assessments with photographs attached usually makes the answer obvious.

Questions we get asked
How fast can you get out to look at it?
Usually within a day or two, and sooner when water is actively coming in. Jonathan does the look himself, so you are not waiting on a salesman to pass a message along to a crew.
Do you handle fascia installation on commercial buildings too?
Yes, on small commercial. Churches, restaurants, warehouses, duplexes and small apartment buildings are regular work for us. We schedule around your hours so the business keeps running.
Will you tell me if I do not actually need this?
Yes, and we do it often. Several of our best reviews came from telling somebody their roof had years left. If a repair is the honest answer instead of a replacement, that is what Jonathan will tell you.
Are you licensed and insured?
Licensed, bonded and insured, with an A+ rating from the BBB. We can send proof before we start, and you should ask that of anybody who climbs on your roof.
What does cleanup look like when you are finished?
We pick up after ourselves. Debris goes in the trailer, the yard gets run with a magnet for nails, and the landscaping gets protected while we work.
Do you offer financing?
We do, for roofing and exterior projects. It is worth asking about if the timing of the work and the timing of the money do not quite line up.

Most properties need more than one thing handled, and it is cheaper to do it in one trip than three.
