Rotted boards cut out and replaced, then primed before anything gets painted. The part homeowners rarely see is everything underneath: the decking, the underlayment, the flashing at every wall and penetration. That is where a roof either lasts or starts leaking in three years.
Jonathan walks the roof before quoting anything, photographs what he finds, and shows you the pictures. You get told what it needs and what it does not, in plain language, and the number you get is the number you pay.
Read that back and it sounds like the bare minimum. It is. It is also the thing most people say they did not get from the last contractor they hired, which is why we keep saying it out loud.

What is behind the siding decides its life
Siding is a rain screen, not a seal. The housewrap and flashing behind it are what actually keep the wall dry. Siding installed over damaged sheathing or without proper flashing at windows will look right for years while the wall behind it rots.
Vinyl needs room to move
Vinyl expands and contracts significantly between a Memphis January and a Memphis July. Nailed tight, it buckles and waves. The gap at the nail head is not sloppiness, it is the installation spec, and it is the first thing we look at on siding that has gone wavy.
Wood fails from the bottom up
Rot starts where water sits: the bottom course, the butt ends, around windows. Catching it there means replacing boards. Missing it means replacing sheathing and sometimes framing, which is a different job at a different price.
Ask whether the price is fixed. A quote that can move after work starts is not really a quote, and that is where most billing disputes begin.
Ask what they would do if it were their own house. It is a simple question and the answer is usually revealing.
Ask to see photographs of your own roof. Anybody who quotes a roof they did not walk is guessing, and you are the one who pays for the guess.

How fast can you get out to look at it?
Usually within a day or two, and sooner when water is actively coming in. Jonathan does the look himself, so you are not waiting on a salesman to pass a message along to a crew.
Do you handle wood siding repair on commercial buildings too?
Yes, on small commercial. Churches, restaurants, warehouses, duplexes and small apartment buildings are regular work for us. We schedule around your hours so the business keeps running.
Will you tell me if I do not actually need this?
Yes, and we do it often. Several of our best reviews came from telling somebody their roof had years left. If a repair is the honest answer instead of a replacement, that is what Jonathan will tell you.
Are you licensed and insured?
Licensed, bonded and insured, with an A+ rating from the BBB. We can send proof before we start, and you should ask that of anybody who climbs on your roof.
What does cleanup look like when you are finished?
We pick up after ourselves. Debris goes in the trailer, the yard gets run with a magnet for nails, and the landscaping gets protected while we work.
Do you offer financing?
We do, for roofing and exterior projects. It is worth asking about if the timing of the work and the timing of the money do not quite line up.
